| Seagate's roots stem
back to 1979. Over the years Seagate has played a significant role
in digital storage. Seagate had its first big success in 1980 with
a hard drive that could fit into a 5.25 form factor slot in computers.
By 1996 Seagate has secured a firm footing in the tape drive end of the
business by acquiring Conner Peripherals. The deal came with
rights to Archive Corporation as well. Tape drive solutions
have been popular back up solutions for enterprise level businesses. Although the Tape Drive solutions did not produce as much for Seagate as hard drive technology, they produced a strong tape line. Over the last 20 years many resellers and service providers have taken on support of Seagate tape drives. Delta Peripheral Technologies has found that companies are in need of tape drive support. Phil Tran, CEO of Delta Peripheral Technologies, told Trade Federation " Medium sized businesses and Fortune 500 companies rely on tape drives to restore critical data". Companies like Delta Peripheral focus on providing replacement tape drives and cost affective repair options to corporations. Currently, Seagate continues to support enterprise businesses with storage products although they have definitely stepped up their consumer line. Back in 2007 The Red Hot Chili Peppers had endorsed Seagate's Free Agent product line as a solid solution for the music industry. FreeAgent is a portable desktop hard drive storage line. In 2008, Seagate's website features Director Yun-Chan Lee from Taiwan in an article. By April 2008, FreeAgent contributed to a project across the water from Taiwan. In China, FreeAgent played a role in documenting Olympic preparation of the Bejing National Stadium. The man in charge of the documentation, Digi-Life editor-in-chief Lu Jing, could relax according to an article featured on the Seagate home page. Thus for the last two years, The FreeAgent storage solution has been acknowledged to be a foundational piece of many world class professionals and thier projects. |

| In January 2008 Cisco began
the year by featuring a
new product on their site called TelePresence System 3000.
This product is perfect for real-time highly-populated meetings that could include
anything from dealing with customers
to discussing supply-chain issues. By mid-April 2008, Cisco featured a
banner titled Self-Defending Network. Cisco's suite of products is focused on
3 key areas: preventing data leakage, preventing data loss, defeating
botnets, and complying with regulations.
4 product lines were emphasized: Firewalls, Virtual Private Networks, Intrusion Prevention, and email/web security. . This astounding creation is aimed
at enterprises or chain businesses, but, it is also used for some small
businesses. Cisco's testimonials section is also known as the Human Network. Back in 2007, Cisco devoted a large rotating banner to new updates related to Thunder Sk8 company. Thunder Sk8 is a skateboard manufacturer based out of Venice, California. A video is hosted by Sean Adams, Product Development, from Thunder Sk8. Sean and his professional skateboard team proceed to explain the benefits of Cisco's Smart Unified Business Communication solutions. Sean Adams is able to communicate with Pro Skaters, in the field, to get rapid video updates on product quality. In April 2008, Cisco boasts about their integral role in revolutionary life saving technology. WeatherBug.com has built its real time and location specific weather application on a Cisco backbone. The article quotes Ken Jenne, sheriff of Broward County Florida. Ken Jenne explained that officials of Broward county relied on WeatherBug.com to better predict the path of Hurricane Wilma in October 2005. The county was able to successfully and safely evacuate citizens. Cisco has also been making moves on their financial side of the business. As of February 15th, 2008 Frank Calderoni is the CFO of Cisco. |
