Online Art Tour Summer
2007
|

Art blooms in many
forms and it continues to
change. Artistic expression takes shape in paintings,
drawings, sculptures, and digital mediums.
Expressions might be abstract, realistic,
or symbolic.
Art even appears on various websites where art can be
viewed by the
world. Museums and companies that sell/display
creative unique art are online
now. Online Art forums and recreational services have
developed for
hobbyists, as well. If you are seeking art, art
websites, and true talent, you have
found the right online art tour. |

First, we will
visit a fascinating site called Auto Art by Harper at
http://www.autoartbyharper.com
For years this experienced artist has created original and
realistic
paintings of real race cars. First, he takes pictures
of racecars
before, after, or during a race. Then, he uploads the
pictures to
continue the process. The photos are then digitally
painted, which
adds texture and artistic flair. This artist puts
effort and
time into his work to create detailed, framed giclee
prints. His
unique style combines a smooth and liquid-like texture with
a 3-D look.
Look at the two pictures of racecars made by Harper below.

On the next leg of
our tour, we stop at The Santa
Monica Museum of Art. This art museum
has recently
announced that in 2008 there are going to be many
festivities for their
twentieth year as the only kunsthalle in Los Angeles.
A kunsthalle is an art gallery mounting temporary exhibitions,
and supported by an art association of local collectors and
artists. This
celebration includes a special dinner on January 10, 2008
and an opening
reception in honor of Michael Asher on January 25,
2008. Michael
Asher is a conceptual artist. Currently,
however, the museum is focused on two new projects.
The first
project is called The Wood by Sharon Levy.
This new project stresses the art of
sculpture and is based on the stages of
life and death of trees. Sharon has created
trees with many branches
and that vary in browns and tans. The second project
is called Magic
Black Women by Loren Holland. The artist has
created numbers
of paintings of African American women that portray a
seriously evocative,
and sometimes
haunting look. With her art, she conveys an essence of
beauty among the
women. |
